PLEIN AIR PAINTING 2010

********************

The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association and the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild invites all artists to join us on April 10th & April 11th for a weekend of painting in the beautiful community of Blue Ridge, GA. This spring weekend features the Blue Ridge Adventure Race, where nearly 100 teams come to Blue Ridge to participate in an outdoor event, which involves kayaking, biking, hiking, mystery events, etc. Join us as we try to capture these art and adventure activities. Call The Art Center for more information (706-632-2144) or e-mail brmaa@etcmail.com.

Artists will be located all around town, outside of town at some of the beautiful locations near the Toccoa River, Lake Blue Ridge, Mercier Orchard, and numerous other locations. Professional procedures will be followed such as: registration, stamping of substrate (canvas, paper, etc.), framing and entry for show on Sunday. Don't miss this opportunity to paint in a wonderful location, meet and interact with other plein air artists, and meet and show your work and methods to the public.

CHATEAU ELAN PAINTING WEEKEND...PLANNING STAGE FOR EARLY SPRING, 2010. CHECK BACK FOR MORE INFO

***********************************

Georgia Outdoor Painters began with a small group of artists who wanted to "go paint". In January of 2006, a group met who wanted to paint plein air! could paint independently and get along with almost everyone! who were willing to travel and share expenses and be a part of small intimate groups.

Our purpose was to share expenses in traveling to new locations, to workshops, or weekend outings close to home, and also to share in mentoring one another as outdoor artists. Our time spent together has created a bond of friendship as well as painting partners that we can call on from time to time to share a day or a weekend of plein air painting.

One of the things we'd like to do with this site is share our trips with other outdoor painters, both in visual and written reviews from the artist perspective. We'd also like to give you the opportunity to share unique places that you've found in Georgia, news of plein air events, or any other information that you feel would be helpful to groups or individual outdoor painters.

We also offer personal webpages to artists who would like to showcase their outdoor paintings for a small fee of $10 yearly with up to ten (10) images and text.  If you enjoy painting outdoors and want to network with other Georgia painters, let us know! Georgia Outdoor Painters is free to any artist who paints in Georgia!
